Have you tried horse riding as sport? Have you always wanted to know all about horses? Horseriders.org offers all of these information and more! Here’s a brief excerpt of some informations they outline on the website:

Horse Diseases: If you own a horse, it’s important to be aware of illnesses and diseases that your horse may encounter. Speak to a veterinarian if you notice anything different in your horse’s behavior. Aside from diseases & illnesses, it is important to keep a first aid kit for horses for safety reasons. These first aid kits tend to include: scissors, gauze bandages, elastoplast, cotton roll, an antiseptic wash, some crepe cotton bandages, antibiotic powder and pressure pack spray, a clean bucket, a thermometer and iodine.

Interesting Horse Facts: If you feed a horse, you might notice that the horse is sniffing the food. Why is that? Just like other animals, they are smelling the food before they eat. This is their method of making sure what you’re giving them is edible. So, the next time you feed a horse, don’t be alarmed if your horse takes a while to sniff around your hand!

Horse back riding is not only fun, but it’s a great form of exercising. There are also other benefits from horse back riding because it also is used as a therapeutic treatment as well. Horses can also benefit the whole family with activities such as horseback riding holidays.
